The Economics of a European Hydrogen Automotive Infrastructure

Analyses of the costs of hydrogen infrastructure have been conducted, but few have examined the financing or payback implications for different participants. Our analysis investigated different plausible detailed scenarios for the development of a hydrogen refuelling infrastructure for vehicles in Europe. This showed that not only were overall total investment costs comparatively low, but given highly targeted deployment it would be possible for infrastructure providers to begin to make profits after 5-8 years.
