Franz Lehner has a broad background in sustainable energy and works largely on hydrogen, fuel cells and questions around the integration of variable renewable energies. He has ledprojects for multinational energy firms, the automotive industry, technology start-ups and governmental organisations.
Franz is the project manager of E4tech’s annual Fuel Cell Industry Review, well connected in the hydrogen and fuel cell community, and a regular presenter at conferences and industry events
His expertise includes techno-economic and supply chain assessments of novel technologies as well as market and energy scenario analyses.
He has also conducted a number of projects in energy efficiency, demand-side management, solar energy and sustainable buildings.
Before joining E4tech, Franz worked as a project manager for module development with crystalsol, an Estonian-Austrian start-up commercialising a novel type of solar cells. He has an MSc in Materials and Processes for Sustainable Energetics from Tallinn University of Technology and University of Tartu, Estonia, and a BSc in Eco-Energy-Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. Franz speaks English, German, and some French.
