A major new report for the UK Automotive Council comes as the UK automotive sector is defining its post-referendum future and as industrial strategy and energy & climate policy are placed under the same government department. The UK automotive sector has been a successful example of industrial strategy and the report provides a solid foundation for the next wave of opportunities for the industry.
Some 21 low carbon technology areas have been identified where global automakers have a clear future need and the UK is well positioned to innovate and supply – these range from efficient engines to electric motors and lightweight materials. Each opportunity is laid out with supporting evidence in the 128 page report. E4tech worked alongside Ricardo for 6 months to deliver the work for UK Advanced Propulsion Centre.
